Velles Counseling Services LLC. is legally and ethically obligated to report when someone makes a threat to harm another, and when someone threatens to harm themselves.  These threats do not need to be explicit, but can be the result of the totality of someone's behaviors and actions.  Read more about it here: Duty To Warn

VCS takes your confidentiality very seriously.  When you have a session with us, whatever is discussed during that session does not get shared with your family, employers, or anyone else, without your specific instructions to do so and a signed Release of Information.  However, counseling records can sometimes be subpoenaed by the court in certain situations.  While this does not happen often, it can still happen, but VCS will do all that it can to keep any shared information as minimal as possible.
